Tony Kelly was admitted to practice as a Barrister of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1973. He commenced his own legal practice 3 months later. His private client base today mainly comprises equity participants in private business undertakings, which often includes large family operated agricultural enterprises.
Tony has been working with families and family offices in a number of areas but particularly in relation to associated estate and succession planning issues which have arisen as a result of the increase in blended families since the reform of divorce laws in Australia in the 1970s. His extensive litigation experience in this succession area includes acting for executors as well as disaffected beneficiaries and claimants in claims for further provision or the receipt of other financial relief as a consequence of legal claims against deceased estates.
Tony is also a Leadr accredited mediator and was recognised in Best Lawyers 2012 as a leading Wealth Management/ Succession Planning practitioner. He is also a TEP member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
