Members of GPFO Private Office Club were invited to Wembley to see the last 16 of the Champion League between Tottenham and Juventus. The evening was sponsored by Clinova, one of our Partners for the year. Although Tottenham lost after Juventus scored two second half goals to win 2-1, the match was hard fought and the members enjoyed an evening of high drama and exciting football.
Another special evening was had at Davidoff, St James’s. Members enjoyed smoking a special brand of cigars, tasting Louis XIII cognac and eating exquisite chocolates by Matthieu de Gottal. Special thanks to Eddie Sahakian, Brian Copeland and Matthieu de Gottal for a delightful evening.

Global Partnership is supporting Family Offices in Australia. Tony Kelly, an estate planning lawyer based in Melbourne, is GPFO’s representative in the city. He recently hosted a Global Partnership lunch for clients and ‘gatekeepers’ who are either members of high net worth families or are providers of services to this market them. The one thing they all have in common is a close relationship with Tony’s practice which has been built up over the 45 years he has been in practice.
The theme for the event was “What we have here is a failure to communicate”. This light-hearted reference to the Paul Newman film Cool Hand Luke was used to draw the attendees out to discuss this issue as a major cause of what turns a family’s financial abundance into a poisoned chalice, especially if the majority of it is tied up in a small to medium enterprise.
The sharing of experiences by the attendees provided a number of insights and strategies for the improvement of family interaction while providing attendees the opportunity to network and to forge new business and social relationships. Contact Tony Kelly in Australia via tk@ tonykellylawyer.com.au
