Dr Francis Wedin is founder and CEO of Vulcan Energy Resources.
Dr Wedin was previously Executive Director of successful ASX-listed Exore Resources Ltd (ASX:ERX). During this time, he discovered two new JORC lithium resources on two continents in under a year, including Lynas Find, which was bought by Pilbara Minerals and is now in production supplying the Chinese market (ASX:PLS).
Francis has a PhD and BSc (Hons) in mineral exploration, is a Fellow of the Geological Society, and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He is bilingual, and is currently concluding an MBA in renewables.

Vulcan Energy Resources Ltd. is the owner of a lithium-rich geothermal brine project in the Upper Rhine Valley, Germany, at which it intends to establish a lithium production and processing facility (the Vulcan Project) for the production of battery quality lithium hydroxide with net zero carbon footprint. Such an operation, producing premium Zero Carbon Lithium™, is likely to be the first of its kind in the world and aims to reduce the carbon footprint of the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) raw materials supply chain, in line with the stated goals of major car manufacturers.
Production of Zero Carbon Lithium™ is achieved through co-production of baseload, geothermal renewable energy, from the same brine production wells that are used to produce lithium, to power its lithium processing and production facilities.
