Tim Morris was British Ambassador to Morocco, Mauritania, South Sudan and Head of Mission to the Democratic Republic of Congo. His last posting was as Senior Trade Advisor for Africa in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where he built links between the private sector and Government development policy. His earlier career was spent largely in Western Europe and on international organisations, and eleven years on Japan, one task of which was running the UK’s inward investment programme from Japan. Tim is now a private sector consultant specialising in investment in Africa.

Justin leads a variety of global functions, including product development and structuring, client and market strategy, business development, investor relations, and fundraising across the private capital business. His focus is on the growth of Invesco’s venture capital, emerging manager, and other private capital activities. Prior to joining the firm, he held senior positions at Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc, J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Bear Stearns, Wachovia Securities and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. Justin holds a degree in Government from Cornell University and holds the Series 7, 63, 66, 86, and 87 registrations. Chris leads the EMEA ETF equity & commodity product management team at Invesco, responsible for providing support and analysis for our range of equity ETFs. Before joining Invesco he worked as an investment strategist, focusing on market timing and tactical allocation across regions, sectors and styles for Sunrise, State Street Global Markets, Credit Suisse and Societe Generale. Chris holds a DPhil in Inorganic Chemistry from Balliol College, Oxford. He is a charterholder of the CFA Institute.

Richard Carlyle is an equity investment director and vehicle portfolio manager at Capital Group. He has 40 years of investment industry experience and has been with Capital Group for 16 years. Prior to joining Capital, he was head of equities for Henderson Investors. Before that, he was a fund manager for Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, a pension fund manager for British Petroleum, and an analyst for Equity & Law Life Assurance Society. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics with honors from Leicester University. Richard is based in London.

Having graduated from Bath University in Sports Science & Psychology he turned to professional rugby. Matt subsequently helped raise and grow a financial start-up to over 24M under management and moved in-house for a Family Office. Having worked with numerous start-ups from both sides of the table he has a refined eye for an opportunity. Substantial experience in business development, investor relations, growth strategy, and sales across a diversified marketplace provides him with a unique and cutting edge approach.

Miles is the CEO of DeepTech Labs based in Cambridge. DeepTech Labs is a global accelerator and VC fund connecting the Cambridge ecosystem of leading researchers, tech organisations and entrepreneurs to build world-changing DeepTech companies. Prior to DeepTech Labs Miles was Managing Director of AV8 Ventures, a €150m financial fund investing in Europe and the US. The fund focuses on investments at Seed and Series A in Next Generation Mobility, Big Data and AI, Digital Health and Cybersecurity. Miles was Managing Director at Qualcomm Ventures ($500M corporate fund with a portfolio of over 130 companies), leading Qualcomm’s investments in Europe. At Qualcomm Ventures Miles lead investments such as Iridigm (acquired by Qualcomm, 10x return), A123 (IPO’d and went on to a $2B valuation), ChargeMaster (acquired by BP), Formula E and Voluntis. While at Qualcomm Miles formed and ran an internal incubator and developed Qualcomm’s effort in Augmented Reality, Wireless Charging and Machine learning and holds 34 patents. He also spent a number of years setting up and running Product Management teams for Mobile Phones and Display groups at Qualcomm. Miles holds an BA in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bristol University and an MBA from University of California, Irvine.

Alyx is the Chief Investment Officer of Kernow and is responsible for trading and investment research. He has been investing since the age of fifteen and considers himself fortunate to be able to describe this fascinating activity as his job. Kernow is the realisation of a lifelong dream to work alongside talented people in applying their aggregated investment knowledge in an uncompromised form. Previously Fund Manager at Downing LLP, Vice President at Deutsche Bank AG and Management Consultant at KPMG LLP. Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAS) and holds the Investment Management Certificate and a BA in Accounting and Economics.
