James Black – VP Listing Development James Black is the VP, Listings Development for the Canadian Securities Exchange (“CSE”). Based in Toronto, ON Mr. Black manages the CSE’s domestic and international programs for attracting new companies to the exchange as well as steering CSE’s client-service initiatives for current listed companies. In addition to these roles, James actively leads many of CSE's content initiatives as editor-in-chief of the CSE's in-house magazine and as host of CSE video and audio content including the “Exchange for Entrepreneurs” podcast. Prior to James’ tenure at the CSE, he was a manager at the National Angel Organization where his focus was on helping Angel groups launch, network with one another, and establish best practices for investing. He graduated from Ryerson University in Toronto with Honours majoring in Entrepreneurial studies. Anna Serin – Director of Business Development Anna Serin has over 20 years of experience in securities and corporate finance. She commenced her career as an investment advisor, focusing on holistic advisory services with high-net-worth individuals. Following her tenure as an advisor, Ms. Serin opened her own corporate governance firm assisting small cap and growth public companies. In 2016, Ms. Serin join the Canadian Securities exchange (CSE) as the Director of Listings Development. In this role, Anna is responsible for aiding in the growth and development of the CSE within Canadian and global marketplaces. The CSE was recognized as a stock exchange in 2004 and was developed to provide a modern and efficient alternative for companies looking to access the Canadian public capital markets. Currently, Ms. Serin serves as a committee member on the BCSC Corporate Finance Stakeholder Forum as well as the Women in Capital Markets Steering Committee.

CEO and Director Mr. MacDonald has many years of experience in the mining industry and is an exploration geologist. He co-founded Kenorland Minerals, a North America-focused company generating greenfield exploration opportunities across different commodities. Prior to 2016, Mr. MacDonald worked with Newmont Mining doing greenfield exploration in Nunavut, West Africa, and East Africa.  

CEO and Director Mr. Donald Currie is the founding CEO of Hillcrest Energy Technologies. Wanting to create an organization that could leverage his 30+ years of energy experience and still benefit from entrepreneurial thinking, he took the reins of Hillcrest in February 2010. Don’s success combines his reputation as a trusted relationship and business builder with decades of North American equity markets exposure and the financing of public companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Currie held various senior level positions including Director, Officer and VP of Corporate Communications with Enhanced Oil Resources Inc., an oil and gas exploration and production company based out of Houston, Texas. 

Alan R. Guibord is a US ARMY Veteran, and a retired professional race car driver who has more than 35 years of global IT and management experience and is one of the co-founders of Integrated Cyber. During his career, he has served as the President and CEO of Computerworld, a media firm for IT Executives, CIO of Fort James Corp., a multi-billion dollar consumer products company, CIO of RR Donnelley, multi-billion-dollar commercial printer. He has also served on the Executive Advisory Boards of several industry leading forms such as Oracle, Microsoft. He has also written a book on Leadership published by John Wiley and sons. ​

A successful serial entrepreneur in healthcare and technology, Sebastian is CEO and creator of the Phytome vision. Sebastian firmly believes that we are only just beginning to understand the language and interplay of botanical and human chemistry and the opportunity to harness its complexity for the healing of disease. He built Phytome to deliver the required research capabilities and life sciences investment opportunities to radically accelerate safe and effective new medicines to those in need.

Brian is an accomplished executive with extensive international experience having spent nearly 8 years at Swiss Precision Diagnostics, one of the world’s leading point of care diagnostics companies, with operations in more than 50 countries. Brian acted as MD of Swiss Precision Diagnostics’ UK subsidiary before becoming COO of Swiss Precisions Diagnostic GmbH (the parent company) in Geneva Switzerland. Prior to his time at Swiss Precision, Brian was a management consultant for Coopers and Lybrand, working with a blue-chip client roster before he established his own advisory practice focused on health-tech and speciality chemistry businesses, working with companies such as AGFA, Johnson & Johnson, Akzo Nobel and Inverness Medical, where he played a key role in establishing the business that was sold to Johnson & Johnson for $1.3 billion. Subsequently, he founded The Health Works Ltd (a specialist operations consultancy) that was eventually sold to GE Healthcare.
