In April, Global Partnership Family Offices, the UK’s only independent and impartial platform for global family office principals, wealth owners, family members and close advisors, will mark its third anniversary.
Building on our strengths, we now serve more than 2,000 private offices worldwide and have become a definitive source of information, unbiased advice and thought leading research and education.
Since our launch we have been developing a series of highly educational and beneficial services for our private office members. These include our series of investment clubs and half-day seminars held in London and Switzerland with various wealth management speakers. In 2011 we held 10 such events with hundreds of delegates in attendance.
We also host a number of coffee-meetings which are more intimate discussion groups involving a two-hour panel session with experts in areas such as legal, property and tax.
This year we intend to continue both of these successful event schedules and are looking to add further opportunities for family office members to interact.
Our invitation-only gatherings in 2012 will once again focus on salient issues facing family offices including: investments, tax, legal and property. For example, in May we will be looking in-depth at the subject of Social Financing and Impact Investing as many of our members now fully support and invest in this area. The full 2012 fixtures list is available upon request.
The topics for the investment seminar are based on input from our Family Office Advisory Board. Three new members have joined this year: Mark Shapley, Paul Reynolds and Harry Lawson-Johnston. More information is on our website.
As well as our private gatherings, we also plan to expand our series of training and development courses. Subjects at these bespoke training sessions have included:
• Responsibilities of a Trustee
• Risk Management
• Managing the Family Office vs Family Business
• Strategies for the Next Generation and Succession Planning
• Strategies for Managing Family Wealth
More information on our 2012 schedule is available upon request, or please contact us to learn more.
In addition, in June, Jonathan Lidster (Chief Operating Officer), will be speaking at the forthcoming DC Finance Israeli Family Office and Wealth Management Conference in Tel Aviv. Although not organised by Global Partnership Family Offices, we would be happy to provide you with more information if you would like to attend.
Finally, 2012 sees the launch of Global Partnership Family Offices Private Office Club, a private and closed social and educational networking group. With no sell-side presence, the club is an opportunity for members to come together to share and discuss ideas over a lunch or dinner. Membership is available to private office professionals and wealth owners and already we have a full calendar of vibrant social and educational meetings including insightful and thought provoking speakers.
Private Office Club meetings will take place once a month in London. Should you not have received an invitation to join the Private Office Club and wish to enquire, please visit [www.privateofficeclub.com](http://www.privateofficeclub.com)
Over the course of the year we will also continue to build-up the services and information available on our Pharos system. This online, interactive portal is open to invited parties or family offices can register. Through Pharos, we offer news and feature content on specific and salient issues facing family office professionals, wealth owners and family members. Also included is video content (particularly useful for those who wish to access our investment club content but are unable to attend the event), ‘how to’ guides, a service and product Blackbook and a range of online training modules.
We take great pride in the unbiased service we give our members and encourage everyone to contact us and contribute their own thoughts on how we can continue to focus on the important issues of the time, as well as stay relevant and beneficial to you.
